Final Program Available Here (in Portuguese) The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations frame the world´s most important societal challenges for the decades to come. Yet, their concrete geographical dimensions are rarely taken into consideration. Moreover, the contributions of – and policy implications for – different types of places are not always clear. Considering that a place-based approach is fundamental in order to tackle SGDs, CEGOT´s 3rd International Meeting will de dedicated to these issues. We invite communications that look into different types of SDGs from a geographically sensitive perspective, namely with an eye to challenge our understanding on how to fight different sorts of inequalities: housing access; education, culture and health; climate change; risks; water preservation; territorial identity and competitiveness; economic diversification and innovation; and the creation of more inclusive, safer and resilient communities. |
